Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the asked.io service handles personal data. Effective October 19, 2026.
1. Who runs the service
The asked.io service is run by the administrator of the asked.io service. For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected].
2. Who this policy covers
This policy covers visitors to asked.io, customers who create an account, members of customer workspaces, and respondents who answer surveys built with Asked.
3. Data we collect
We collect only the data needed to run the service.
- Account data, such as name, email address, password in hashed form, workspace, role and billing details.
- Survey content, such as questions, settings, branding and answer wall pages created by customers.
- Respondent answers, including typed text, voice recordings, video recordings, uploaded files, transcripts and the analysis made from them.
- Technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, times and error records.
Card details are entered directly with our payment processor and are not stored by Asked.
4. Our role for respondent answers
For respondent answers, the customer who runs the survey is the controller. Asked processes those answers on the customer's behalf and only to deliver the service. Respondents who want to use their rights over an answer should contact the organization that sent them the survey. We help customers respond to those requests. For account data, survey content created for our own service operation and technical logs, the administrator of the asked.io service is the controller.
5. Why we use data and on what legal basis
- To create and run your account and deliver the service, based on the contract with you.
- To transcribe and analyze answers for the customer who runs the survey, based on the customer's instructions.
- To process payments, keep invoices and meet tax and accounting duties, based on legal obligations.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix errors, based on our legitimate interest.
- To send service emails such as sign-in codes, receipts and important changes, based on the contract.
- To publish an answer on an answer wall, based on the respondent's consent, which can be withdrawn at any time.
6. Who receives data
We share data only with service providers that help us run Asked, and only as far as they need it.
- A hosting provider that stores and serves the service.
- A payment processor that handles subscription payments.
- An email delivery provider that sends service emails.
- AI model providers that transcribe and analyze answers under contract and do not train their models on the data.
We do not sell personal data and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose data when the law requires it.
7. How long we keep data
Account data is kept while the account is active and for a limited time after it closes, to handle billing questions and legal duties. Respondent answers are kept for the retention period the customer sets for each survey, and are deleted earlier on request. Invoices and payment records are kept as long as tax law requires. Technical logs are kept for a short period for security and then deleted.
9. Your privacy rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict and port your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not discriminate against anyone for using these rights.
To use any right, email [email protected] from the address linked to your data. We may ask for details to confirm your identity.
10. International transfers
Data may be processed in countries other than yours. When data leaves the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on standard safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
11. How we protect data
Connections to the service are encrypted in transit, access inside a workspace follows roles, Business and Enterprise add an audit log, and Enterprise adds single sign-on. More details are on the survey data security page.
12. Children
Asked is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Customers must not use Asked to survey children under 16 without the consent required by law.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service or the law changes. We publish the new version on this page with a new effective date and tell account owners by email about important changes.
